THE PARENTS OF THE MONSTER WITHOUT A NAME
The man, eldest son of a family that remained following World War II. A graduate of the military officer academy. Elite groomed to bear the future of the government. His name…his name doesn’t matter. The woman, only daughter of a school teacher. A beautiful woman with blonde hair and blue eyes. Attended University and major in genetic engineering. A talented student, believed to have a promising future. Her name…her name is not important. They met each other at a café…It did not take long for them to fall in love. Eventually, the woman became pregnant. And then, the man confessed that it was a mission. Race, intelligence, skeletal structure, motor skills. An experiment conducted to produce children from several carefully selected couples. They were but one example in that experiment. He told her he’d executed his mission according to the plans, but no longer intends to follow them. And then, he said “Let’s run!” The two ran away. The man declared he would not follow the scenario laid out for him, but even that had been built into the scenario. They were separated…. The woman was isolated in an unfamiliar room. Nurses, doctors she kept asking them to let her see him. “He’s been reassigned to a new mission”…That was the reply…She knew it was unlikely he was still alive. The children in her womb were growing steadily. They were twins. She was beginning to notice that this man, who visited her often. This man, who would sketch pictures of her. This man was the leader of this experiment. “I won’t forgive you. I will never forgive you. Even if I die, these children growing inside of me will have my revenge.” She reached the last month of her pregnancy and her due date grew closer. And when she was placed in a room to wait for the contractions, she made her move. It was less than a meter wide; she escaped through the ventilation shaft, pregnant and intense pain from the contractions. However, she was discovered, collapsed on the road, less than a hundred meters away from the gate. Her water had already broken. “How beautiful. What beautiful children. So these are the children who will carry on the future of humanity. They’re wonderful.” “I’ve decided on the names for my babies.” “You needn’t think about such unnecessary things.” “Their names! The names for my babies…for them!” “It’s fine. They have no need for names....”
